Mark Chambers was elected chair of the Stevenson-Carson School District Board of Directors after the board swore in three new directors at its Dec. 11 meeting. The swearing-in was performed by Superintendent Ingrid Colvard and the board followed with nominations and roll-call votes.
Board members agreed on officer assignments during the annual organization portion of the meeting. Mitch Engel was elected vice chair; Jeff Wickersham accepted the position of legislative representative; and Lisa Birney agreed to continue as the district's WIAA representative. The measures passed by roll-call vote without recorded opposition.
The newly constituted board will proceed with appointed committee roles and routine governance tasks at its next regular meeting on Jan. 29, 2026. The organizational votes provide the district with clarity on who will speak for the board on legislative matters and interscholastic-athletics representation.
