Sheriff Rob Milby told the Committee the 911 center handled over 10,000 calls in January. He reported 75 arrests, 577 tickets issued and 124 motor-vehicle collisions during the month, and said 336 registered sex offenders are listed in the County. Five people are currently enrolled in the police academy; when they finish the department will still have three remaining road-patrol vacancies. Milby said overall staffing is improving and overtime usage has decreased.
The Committee approved several transmittals presented by the Sheriff, including authorization to amend the Thomson Reuters contract and to carry over the remaining 2025 balance of the DCJS Law Enforcement Technology Program (LTP25) grant funds into the 2026 budget; both actions were recorded as approved 4-0.
