The Stevenson-Carson Board of Directors approved the first reading and then adopted Policy 3241, updating disciplinary language to reflect recent changes around suspensions and classroom exclusions.
"The policy Ingrid Colvard is asking the board to approve is directly off the WSSDA website," trustees were told; Colvard said staff members Sarah Dodson and Teresa Burns have completed training on the changes. Lisa Birney moved to approve the first reading and later moved for adoption; Judi King seconded both motions and the motions carried.
Trustees asked whether the policy references were up to date; Colvard confirmed the citations reflect current guidance. The board did not add local amendments at this meeting and the adopted language will be posted with other district policies.
