"I was struck that most of those buildings are far more dilapidated than I would have guessed from reading the packet," Commissioner Ken Johnson said after his site visit, recommending the commission require the structures' essential form and historic character be preserved. Commissioner Catherine Grech asked staff to draft language that would limit the SUP to parcels 100-A-6 and 100-A-5 and to clarify boundary limitations so the permit cannot be extended across neighboring subdivision lots. The commission voted unanimously (5-0) to send the application to a public hearing on June 9, 2026. The applicant attended the meeting and said he and his attorney will continue to work with staff on parcel language for the hearing packet.
