Yates County sets 2027 budget workshop dates and public hearing; cooperating agency forms due July 31

County Administrator Jessica Mullins presented the 2027 budget schedule and web updates: "BUDGET WORKSHOP - Tuesday, October 27th – 9:00 am" and a second workshop on Oct. 28 if needed, with the public hearing and adoption scheduled for "Thursday, November 19th – 6:00 pm." She said cooperating agency request forms have been distributed and are due back July 31, 2026, and that department head budgets should be entered by the end of July with budget-review meetings scheduled in August.
Mullins also noted that NYSAC is conducting a sales-tax reconciliation in June/July that could create volatility in July sales-tax earnings and that the NYSAC sales-tax report breakdown should be available before the end of summer. The administration’s budget timeline and submission deadlines were accepted as information by the committee.
