Highway superintendent reports 30,500 tons of asphalt placed, outlines bridge and culvert plans

Rapalee said the county has "put down just over 30,500 tons of asphalt this summer, so far" and described work to develop a culvert inspection and replacement plan for 2027 and 2028 capital projects. He said the county is investigating removal and realignment options for Sid White Road Bridge pending NYSDEC review and that an agreement for asbestos analysis with B & L has been executed.
Rapalee also reported several bridge projects: sealing the Main Street Bridge deck soon; Pre-emption Road Bridge set to reopen July 7; and the Ferguson-Corners Road project proceeding with a two-lane temporary bridge under a resolution passed in June. He noted Zoom meetings with consultants on a guiderail inspection, upgrade and replacement plan and that data collection is awaiting commencement.
