The county granted American Engineering Testing permission to evaluate roads for the RWE project and heard inspection results for local bridges. Highway Superintendent John Pluimer said Butler Fairman inspected Bridge #14 (CR 500 N, west of Main Street Road) and found no structural damage but noted that all I‑beams will need replacement; the Highway Department plans to repair the bridge before winter.
Pluimer also reported Bridge #23 will be constructed in late 2027 and requires purchase of right‑of‑way totaling $22,730. The county typically pays 20% ($4,546) but could pay the full $22,730 up front to give staff more time to acquire easements; Commissioner Dan Borgenheimer moved to pay the full amount, Commissioner Laura Coons seconded, and the motion passed 3–0.
