IT reports 441 help-desk tickets for June; NAC project suspended pending vendor remediation

Chad Pierce, Yates County Information Technology Director, told the committee the IT help desk received 441 tickets in June and the county has completed its cutover to Exchange Online and Office 365 desktop apps. Pierce said that because of Microsoft licensing constraints the county must manage license distribution carefully and will roll out staff training on new features.
Pierce also reported the Network Access Control (NAC) project has been suspended due to issues that caused outages across multiple departments; the IT team will work with vendors over the next several months to identify and remediate the failures before attempting another rollout. To address increasing storage costs, Pierce said he will submit a resolution next month to purchase Data LifeCycle Automation to migrate stale data and reduce backup costs.
