Elections officials report HART Verity upgrade completed; committee advances multiple election grant contracts

Robert Brechko and Sheila Burt of the Elections Office updated the committee on recent and planned work on July 6. Brechko said the 2025 upgrade to the county's HART Verity voting system was completed following the 2026 Penn Yan Village election and noted the village election experienced a low turnout of about 18 percent. The Elections Office is reviewing staff assignments and revising procedures, and is researching two-page ballot use.
The committee reviewed and, after edits, raised no objections to forwarding a set of election-related authorizations to the full Legislature.
