EDA advances $1 million grant application and engineering for Shenandoah Valley Foods processing site

Director Nina Fox told the board the county is working with the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission to apply for a $1 million Industrial Revitalization Fund grant for Shenandoah Valley Foods. Fox said the grant cycle "is set to open June 1 and close July 31."
EDA member Dennis Fleming reported the board has contracted AWB Engineers to complete the final engineering for the planned meat processing facility, and that the subcommittee hopes the facility will open during the first quarter of 2027. The item remains under the Farming/Agriculture Subcommittee for follow up on grant submission and engineering milestones.
