Attorney David Marland noted he obtained six letters of support from neighbors and provided a revised plan that removed a proposed deck, reducing lot coverage from an original 30.9% request to about 27.4%. Applicant Jacqueline Jenks said the primary reason for dormers was to create headroom so family members could use the third floor rather than cram through very low attic space. The board discussed stormwater mitigation, neighborhood massing and whether an 18- or 24-month completion window was appropriate; the board ultimately adopted the applicant’s revised time condition of 24 months and voted to grant the petition (recorded as 4 ayes with one recusal for a direct abutter)."
