"The only fixed number on this list is 98,500,000," an administration spokesperson said when introducing the proposal. Several councilors and members of the public pressed for supporting documentation for line items and questioned why a $10 million allocation listed as "Rogers High School landfill and disposition of remaining soil" had been added and retitled from earlier drafts. Residents said they had not seen notice of the change and urged more transparency and backup cost estimates before council sign-off.
Given the depth of public questions and concern, councilors moved to continue the matter to the next regular meeting so staff can supply backup cost estimates and clearer documentation; the council voted to continue the item. Administration said the ballot questions themselves remain under the secretary of state’s timetable, and delaying this council action will not prevent the bond from appearing on the November ballot, but will give the council more time to finalize an agreed, advertised allocation for public information.
