The Newport Zoning Board of Review voted unanimously to approve two summary-calendar petitions on Aug. 26, adopting staff findings and the conditions read into the record.
Secretary read the petition of the Ritchie Family LLC seeking to enclose a portion of a second-floor deck on a property that already exceeded lot coverage, and the petition of Kristen and John Bradford Caddy for a dimensional variance to locate condensers closer to a property line than allowed. Chair announced the board had seen no objectors and placed the matters on the consent calendar. After a motion and second the board recorded a 5-0 vote to grant both petitions and to require that projects be started and substantially completed within 12 months (or as extended by the zoning officer) and that any outstanding public-notice invoices be paid before recording the decision.
"Both of these petitions have been passed," the chair said after the vote. The board’s approval adopts staff reports, supporting plans and the Board’s conclusions of law under Chapters 17.108 and 17.109 of the Newport Zoning Ordinance, with the usual recording and notice-payment conditions.
