The Vernon County Commission recorded several routine approvals and two funding allocations at its Aug. 20 meeting. Commissioners approved minutes for July 15 (with corrections), July 16, July 22 and July 23; the minutes show motions and unanimous 'all voted yes' approvals for each. The commission also reviewed and approved employee timesheets and signed checks.
Separately, the commission approved two uses of opioid settlement funds: $44,059 to purchase a Total First Aid Package and training for the Sheriff’s Office (motion by Commissioner Cindy Thompson, seconded by Commissioner John Shorten) and a $15,000 allotment to the 28th Judicial Circuit Court for treatment services and tracking (also moved by Commissioner Thompson and seconded by Shorten). The minutes record unanimous approval for both allocations.
