Dr. Kari Weiss explained the county’s '136 Contract' with the university for educator salaries and reported that vacancies during the first quarter of 2026 could create savings. Depending on start dates for new hires, Dr. Weiss said there is potential for "a $22,000 deduction of the original contracted amount," which will be calculated and applied on the university's second invoice in November.
Dr. Weiss also said a priority for the new 4‑H associate will be volunteer training and that she has been in discussions with the Mondovi Community Youth Center about potential summer programming. The committee did not take formal action on the contract at the April 6 meeting.
