At the April 27 meeting staff and commissioners reviewed recently published ordinance Chapters 7 and 11 and continued discussion of an energy ordinance covering battery energy storage systems (BESS) and utility‑scale solar. Administrator Kacie Buhler said the Board of County Commissioners still plans work sessions but no date has been scheduled; the Commission will continue its research and provide input to the Board.
Buhler noted a specific implementation detail that will require updates to published materials: "The ordinance, particularly the Land Use Charts throughout, will need to be updated to reflect the terminology change from Special Use to Conditional Use brought on by the update to Chapter 7." The Commission also noted ongoing attention to BESS and solar terminology and how the land‑use tables will reflect new rules. Becky Dean moved to adjourn at the close of the meeting and the Commission adjourned at 7:08 PM.
