Middle school reports highlight garden training, 'Shark Tank' project and FFA participation

Middle School Principal Trisha Roach updated the board on program activity and student achievements. She said faculty members Jack Freeman and Mr. Richardson participated in ESD garden training hosted in the district and reported that Teen Biz students ran a 'Shark Tank' simulation developing business plans with financial projections and taglines.
Roach also reported that seven middle-school students are scheduled to attend the state FFA convention, and that the band and choir trip to Brewster drew praise for student preparation. A middle-school track meet is scheduled, Spirit Week will occur next week and will conclude with a dance, and planning for eighth-grade promotion is underway with parent volunteers participating.
ASB elections were held during the week; Roach noted ongoing efforts to tie student activities to instructional goals.
