County hires PR firm, IT rolls out multi-factor authentication and energy ordinance work continues

IT staff member Matthew McGregor described a rollout of multi-factor authentication across county systems; employees will generally have the option to use a phone-based method or a YubiKey hardware token. The board also reported that work continues on a draft energy ordinance following last year’s moratorium on permit applications for energy facilities; commissioners said Jerome County’s large transfer station makes the county an area of interest for energy companies and that the ordinance will be refined over the coming months.
The board encouraged departments to begin preparing budgets for the upcoming fiscal year and asked for additional volunteers for the America 250 planning board.
