City Administrator Dan Madsen reviewed proposed marina ordinance amendments that would clarify the residency requirement for marina slip holders, define the boating season, and establish a process for filling slips that become available during the season. The amendments also would allow residents who accept a partial-season slip to keep their place on the waiting list without that partial season counting toward the 10-year lease limit.
Council discussed the proposed changes, provided feedback to staff, and then waived the first reading and approved the ordinance amendment (motion by Councilmember Emily Scherschligt; second by Councilmember John Studer; vote 3-0). Staff will incorporate the changes into the city code and implement the new slip-administration procedures.
