The Finance Committee approved transferring $318,000 from the Bridge Unassigned account and allocating $130,000 to CR74 Five Mile Creek, $130,000 to Magee Road, and $58,000 to CR21 over Spaulding. The motion passed 4-0.
Committee members also authorized creating a new capital project for the Red Spring Run Road Bridge replacement under FEMA and appropriated $1,291,834.44 from the Road Fund balance into that capital project. Robert Nichols moved the creation and appropriation; William Thew seconded and the committee approved unanimously.
During discussion Mr. Thew asked whether projects are likely to run over budget because of fuel price increases; staff replied that FEMA classifies large projects and will cover costs above the threshold, subject to the county's share rules. Resolutions will be prepared for Legislative consideration.
