Appeals board approves pool and accessory variances in Plantation Pointe subdivision

The Horry County Zoning Board of Appeals approved variances Tuesday for a new pool, tanning ledge, pergola and pool accessory building at Lot 27, Plantation Pointe Subdivision (2857 Old Bridal Drive). The applicant, represented by Lineage Construction, said the parcel is large (about 34,000 square feet) and that the pool location would not be visible from the road because of mature trees and yard layout.
Board members reviewed plans and asked questions about fence setbacks and visibility; the applicant agreed to revise fence details to meet setbacks if necessary. After discussion the board approved the pool, accessory building and fence setbacks as requested with standard staff conditions.
