The commissioners approved two facility-related, community-event requests during the April 21 meeting.
Cindy Barnard presented on behalf of American Legion Post 112 (Deb Schwartz was unable to attend) and requested permission to decorate the courthouse with patriotic balloons, banners and bunting. The board approved the request, with decorations to be placed the evening of July 3 and removed no later than July 6 (motion by Commissioner Drew Storey; seconded by Commissioner Andrew Stauffer; carried 3–0).
Commissioner Drew Markel also presented a request from Dan Roberts and the Rock the Rine Committee to use courthouse facilities as an indoor backup in case of inclement weather for their annual event. Commissioners approved the request (motion by Storey, seconded by Stauffer; carried 3–0). The minutes do not list insurance, security, or custodial conditions attached to approval.
