Clerk Kilmer presented a draft federal purchasing policy update Sept. 10, saying the revision responds to findings from the previous year's single audit that identified the absence of a proper federal purchasing policy.
"This was brought forward to bring it to the Council’s attention that there will be an update to the purchasing policy, specifically the federal portion of it. This is due to findings from last year’s audit that showed we did not have a proper federal purchasing policy," Clerk Kilmer said. The item was presented for council awareness; no ordinance or resolution was introduced and no vote was recorded.
Kilmer said the Finance Committee would be engaged on budget amendments and the 2025 budget at upcoming meetings; the policy update will proceed through the appropriate committee and council review processes.
