Members told staff they view coordination with the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and leveraging a RAISE grant as a way to shorten the Ballard Street project timeline substantially.
One board member said working with the MPO and coordinating with FDOT could accelerate project delivery "and it could save us a year or 2 on that timeline," urging staff to seek an MPO representative or FDOT liaison at a future meeting to explain interagency sequencing and funding options.
Staff agreed to continue outreach to the MPO and FDOT and to request an update when the MPO liaison is available so the board can advise on priorities and local support.
