Board members discussed Fowler Street as a top workshop priority and recommended inviting subject‑matter experts to explain project steps and funding options.
Board members urged the advisory board to press for prioritization and to bring Ron Gogley (MPO) and Council representation to a future meeting so members can ask technical questions and explore a possible RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) grant that could accelerate the project timeline. One board member summarized: "We should also have Fred Berson at that meeting because he's very knowledgeable on the initial plan of the Evans and then the Fowler."
Members discussed steps to increase Fowler Street’s ranking with FDOT and the MPO and considered collaboration with Lee County and state agencies. Staff said the MPO contact is confirmed for February and recommended the board crystallize questions to maximize the expert visit. The board voted to include Fowler Street among three topics at the next workshop.
