Council directs DRP to negotiate public–private partnership for McIntosh Hardware lot

Ravenswood Common Council directed Ravenswood Downtown Partners (DRP) to engage landowners about a draft public–private memorandum of understanding for the McIntosh Hardware lot on Washington Street.
Mayor Josh Miller opened discussion and said he "fully supports if fiscally feasible and the owners understand dynamics." Councilor Todd Ritchie noted sidewalk repairs were needed, while Councilor Amanda Slaven voiced concern about the city committing funds. Councilor Eric Cullen then moved "to have DRP engage with landowners to negotiate public/private partnership," with Amanda Slaven seconding; the motion passed unanimously.
The draft MOU in the packet envisions the city and property owners Mr. Wimbauer and Mr. Gould working together to grade, gravel or seed the lot for parking and public events, with DRP facilitating scheduling and the city committing mowing and care until the owners determine a future development direction. The document notes a donation of fill material has been approved and that a concise agreement will be formulated after council concurrence of the concept.
