Lawrence County approves USFS Benchmark Project comments to maintain county standing

Chairman Eric Jennings told the board the deadline for comments on the U.S. Forest Service Benchmark Project was June 20, 2026 and the county needed to act so it "can maintain standing and continue to be involved in the process," Jennings said.
The commission first tabled the item to receive guidance from the Natural Resources Committee and, after committee input, voted (Moved-Seconded Tysdal-Ewing) to approve the county comments and authorize their submittal to the USFS.
