County procurement staff told the board they will piggyback a Syracuse City School District contract that runs to 06/30/27 to use Enterprise for fleet management and leasing. The proposal came after internal review of Sourcewell and a cited comptroller audit that questioned use of nongovernment cooperative bidding vehicles.
Procurement staff said Enterprise has been a reliable vendor and that the county conducted an RFP and determined piggybacking is an acceptable alternative where OGS or GSA options are limited. A board member asked whether towns should be advised; staff suggested sharing the comptroller audit and their procurement approach with municipal partners. The board approved the piggyback motion by voice vote.
