Steuben County board seeks plan after retirement of after‑hours crisis worker; 988 discussed

Lynn Gramley told the Steuben County Community Services Board on April 7 that the agency's after‑hours crisis worker "officially retired," and that the agency is working on a permanent plan for coverage. "The calls are being covered but the agency is looking at working with 988 for afterhours calls only, the mobile team remains in place," Gramley said.
Gramley also said space constraints have increased; she reported that she, Auralee Jefferds and Amanda Jo Gleason‑Seager are currently sharing an office. The agency has hired a new therapist who works with children and two nurses, but Gramley framed recruitment and workspace as ongoing challenges while the board considers longer‑term after‑hours coverage.
