The subcommittee approved a motion to authorize renewal of a lease with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, for property at Grand Strand Airport that includes the site of the aircraft control tower.
"This property is consistent about 0.7 acres, and it includes the site of the aircraft control tower," the presenting official said, describing a 20-year agreement under which the FAA would be responsible for operation and maintenance and no annual rental income would be recorded. Committee members moved and approved staff's recommendation to proceed with the lease renewal.
