The committee approved an ordinance allowing the county administrator to deed the former Look Avenue fire station in Little River to the Little River Chamber of Commerce, with a reverter clause and a restriction that the property not be transferred except to another governmental entity.
"What you have before you today is an ordinance that would allow, our administrator to go ahead and deed a surplus fire station that is currently in Little River," the presenting official said, noting the building is being used for storage and needs repair. A committee member said they supported the conveyance "as long as we have 1st right of refusal," and staff responded the county would have recourse if the chamber stopped using the property. The ordinance was moved, seconded and approved by the committee.
