Mayor Smith reported that the town’s final presentation to the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) on the Mill Hill acquisition "went very well," and that town staff received favorable comments from the review team. He said, if successful, the town would likely approach the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) about adjacent property to expand trail amenities around Mill Hill.
Smith also said he met with Director Denham and Friends of the Pool about a possible concessionaire agreement for the pool and that the town cannot continue to operate the pool with current staffing constraints. He reported the Police Chief’s arrival was delayed until Sept. 15 due to transportation and housing issues but that housing was secured through the Witner.
The council did not take formal action on Mill Hill during the meeting; the remarks are recorded as part of the mayor’s report pending RCO’s final decision.
