Staff emphasized coordinating signage in city‑controlled segments and asking the state and county for permission to add advance warning signs on non‑city portions.
Council and staff discussed an education phase (about 30 days) with public messaging and flags or message boards to raise driver awareness before enforcement; staff said actual enforcement can be operationally time‑consuming because officers often must follow a vehicle through the corridor to document a violation and then initiate a traffic stop. The council asked staff to continue refining sign locations and provide an enforcement plan.
