At its Feb. 2 session, the Ottawa County Board of Health approved multiple personnel appointments presented by Health Department Director Sara Hodges. The board moved to appoint "Trisha Smith as Ottawa County Health Officer," Dr. Peter Meier as Ottawa County Medical Consultant, and Melanie Kuder as Ottawa County Pharmacy Consultant; the motion was offered by Commissioner Morris, seconded by Commissioner Grund and passed 3-0.
The Board also appointed representatives to the Ottawa County Council on Aging for several senior centers across the county. Hodges outlined that she is preparing grant applications, is working with a state funding formula and a five‑year strategic plan, and asked how often the Board should meet; the board reached consensus to meet next in September. No additional actions were recorded during the Board of Health session.
