Commission approves right-of-way occupancy agreements for utilities and well field projects

The board approved Agreement #26-38 (Brookings Municipal Utilities) and Agreements #26-39/#26-40 (Joint Well Field, Inc.) and #26-41 (Sioux Valley Energy) for right-of-way occupancy on county highways in Medary, Eureka and Oslo townships.
On May 5 the Brookings County Commission approved several applications for occupancy of county highway right-of-way. Agreement #26-38 authorizes Brookings Municipal Utilities to occupy county highway right-of-way in Medary Township; background was provided by Evan Henningsen of Brookings Municipal Utilities. The commission also approved Agreement #26-39 and Agreement #26-40 for Joint Well Field, Inc. in Eureka Township and Agreement #26-41 for Sioux Valley Energy in Oslo Township. Motions were made and carried unanimously.
Highway Superintendent Brian Gustad provided background on the Joint Well Field items. The approvals permit the applicants to proceed with planned infrastructure work subject to any conditions contained in the individual agreements; the motions recorded in the meeting minutes authorized Chairperson Hostler to sign the agreements on behalf of the county.
