Commission approves multiple retail malt-beverage and farm-wine licenses for 2026–27 period

At its May 5 meeting the Brookings County Commission approved multiple Retail (On/Off Sale) Malt Beverage & South Dakota Farm Wine licenses for the July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 licensing year. Approved businesses named in the meeting record include Cuzbins, LLC (Arlington Beach Resort), CC&F Retail, Inc. (Friendly’s Fuel Stop – Elkton; approval contingent on payment of first-half property taxes), Good Roots Farm & Garden, K&K Enterprises (The Corner Gas & Goodies), Schade Vineyard Inc., SVK Properties, LLC (Midway Camp), Wagon Wheel Resort, LLC, and others.
Finance Specialist Jenna Baker provided the licensing background when several motions were called. The board handled each license application by motion and recorded unanimous or majority votes as noted in the minutes. The Friendly’s Fuel Stop approval was amended to be contingent on payment of the first half of property taxes prior to final licensing paperwork.
