The Brookings County Commission on May 5, 2026 approved an On/Off Sale Malt Beverage & South Dakota Farm Wine License for Bella Casa Wedding and Event Venue following a public hearing. Owner Teresa Holloman told the board she is "excited about this new adventure" and said she does not want hard liquor on the property and only wants a malt beverage license. No opponents appeared at the hearing.
Chairperson Shawn Hostler opened and closed the public hearing after calling for proponents and opponents. The motion to approve carried unanimously, with commissioners voting "aye" on the motion by Doug Post and second by Kelly VanderWal. The license allows Bella Casa to serve malt beverages and South Dakota farm wine at events; the license type and any local conditions will be reflected in the county's licensing records.
