Commission proclaims January as Human Trafficking and Stalking Awareness Months

Paul cited national and regional statistics, noting that in 2024 an estimated 17,000 potential human-trafficking victims were identified nationwide and DVACK provided services to several survivors and stalking victims across multiple counties.
During the Human Trafficking proclamation, Paul noted the various perpetrator relationships identified in recent data and described DVACK's local services, including crisis intervention, advocacy, safety planning and housing support. The commission voted 3–0 to approve the proclamations and encouraged community awareness and support for survivors.
Paul called on residents and service providers to increase awareness and join local efforts to prevent exploitation and support victims.
