Planning staff outlines comprehensive plan work, targets July 2027 adoption; Spud's developer issues remain

Alex Kovach, Planning & Building staff, told the council the public engagement plan has been delivered to the Washington Department of Commerce and summarized comprehensive plan and development regulation work that includes coordination with Grant County, land-capacity mapping and transportation analysis, ADU policy, public facility requirements, tribal engagement and preservation of historic resources. The minutes record a target to adopt the comprehensive plan in July 2027.
Kovach also reported that a prep meeting for Spud's Convenience Store had been completed; council members were reminded that building on unplatted property with no infrastructure will require an agreement addressing infrastructure and access. No final agreement was approved at this meeting.
