Board authorizes Washington Court House Fire Department to use demolition properties for training with conditions

The Washington Court House Fire Department requested permission to use certain Land Bank-owned properties slated for demolition for training exercises that do not involve live fires. Penny Patton moved and Mr. Garland seconded a motion to authorize WCHFD to use demolition-bound properties for training provided the Land Bank is not liable for injuries or accidents and that properties requiring asbestos abatement are not used. Chair Tony Anderson called for a voice vote and the motion passed unanimously.
The authorization is limited by the asbestos condition and the liability waiver; staff will document which properties are available for training and ensure that sites with known asbestos issues are excluded from the approved list. The authorization does not authorize live-fire exercises and requires coordination between the fire department and Land Bank staff.
