City of Niles approves multiple equipment purchases, maintenance contracts and grants

Items approved included: renewal of an information security service agreement with Wazuh Security Service for three years at an annual cost of $10,875.60; purchase of a hot-water pressure washer for the Utility Service Center for $9,210.00; acceptance of an $18,200 bid from Precision Electric Inc. for 30hp motor soft starters at the Wastewater Treatment Plant; purchase of 4,014 feet of wire from Border States of Lansing for $8,595.18; approval of historic preservation painting services by Double M Painting for $8,568 paid by a private grant; and authorization of an estimated $2,781.00 repair of the Dial-a-Ride vehicle lift.
Council also approved a Patronicity crowdfunding campaign for the Ferry Street School Park Project and passed a resolution supporting a Certified Local Government grant application for $35,000 to fund History Center restroom accessibility improvements. Each item was approved by roll call in the minutes and the relevant department managers were authorized to sign documents to complete the purchases or contracts.
