Board members discussed a recent retail-trade analysis and approved a plan to pursue five focused market-area profiles (Rush City/Harris; North Branch/Wyoming/Stacy; Chisago/Lindstrom/Center City; Shaffer/Taylors Falls; and related areas) to produce usable local retail insights.
A board member introduced an intern: “This is Alex Ing. He's an intern from St. Cloud State University.” The profiles will use Placer.ai cell-phone data and may be supplemented with optional focus groups if a city wishes to dig deeper. Commissioners said the targeted profiles should be more actionable than the broader county-level report they had earlier reviewed.
