Fire Commission approves minutes, monthly reports and 2026 budget item

The Green Lake Fire Commission convened Aug. 27 at the Firehouse, 574 Commercial Avenue, and approved the July 30, 2025 meeting minutes. Chairman David Nawrocki opened the meeting and roll call showed all commissioners present. Commissioner Ron Triemstra moved to approve the July minutes; Commissioner Christopher Foos seconded and the motion carried.
Commissioners accepted three departmental reports. Christopher Foos presented the First Responders report (31 calls in August, First Responders attended 16) and Josh Schmidt gave EMS totals (135 calls for the month). Chief William Wagner reported $3,918.42 in Fire Department expenses for August, repairs to four trucks and that he prepared the 2026 budget. Under business the Town of Brooklyn increased the equipment replacement fund to $50,000 for 2026. Multiple motions were made to approve the reports and invoices (motions noted below); all motions carried. The commission set its next meeting for Sept. 24, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
Votes and motions at the meeting were procedural and recorded as "motion carried"; no vote tallies were included in the minutes.
