Council reviewed three items relating to new Public Service Commission regulations that assign municipalities greater responsibility for fire-hydrant maintenance and testing. The three items—flow-testing procedure, hydrant marking code, and hydrant inspection procedure—were approved unanimously on a motion by Charlene Louk and seconded by Karen Phillips.
The Treasurer reported that "BowSel Inc. will be in Nutter Fort starting Thursday, May 29, 2025, to begin hydrant testing to fulfill the new requirements." Council also referenced discussions with DEP and Thrasher on Phase II of the AML project in the Treasurer’s report. Staff will coordinate hydrant testing logistics and follow PSC guidance on reporting and maintenance responsibilities.
