The Faribault and Martin Counties Joint Board of Commissioners, acting as the drainage authority for Judicial Ditch #7FM, unanimously approved a motion on Feb. 17, 2026, directing staff to solicit bids for the JD7FM Phase II Open Ditch Repair. The motion, made by Commissioner Gertrude Paschke and seconded by Commissioner Kevin Kristenson, carried with all six commissioners voting yes.
The board took the action after staff reported that televising performed by the Faribault County Drainage Department in December 2025 confirmed poor conditions in Branch X and X Supplemental, including sections where tile ends could not be viewed because of multiple failures and sediment. The board also simultaneously accepted a repair petition filed with the Faribault County Auditor on Jan. 21, 2026, and appointed an engineer to prepare a Repair Report under Minn. Stat. § 103E.715. The board record states, "The Repair Petition is hereby accepted."
