Representatives from KCCAMP presented Ellis County with a risk‑management achievement award and a check for $12,012.23. Patrick Smith, KCCAMP risk manager, explained the award recognizes counties that meet criteria such as maintaining a quarterly risk‑management committee, conducting facility and roofing inspections and documenting cybersecurity efforts.
County administrator Darren Myers credited the county safety committee and HR manager Jennifer Taylor for coordinating meetings and documentation. Myers said the county uses these funds to reimburse employee training costs and support professional development and safety courses.
Commissioners asked committee members to stand for recognition and the county took a photograph for newsletter distribution.
