A board member provided an update on a grant-funded facilities project that replaced piping throughout the building and installed new drinking-water faucets in occupied areas. The presenter said the work is substantially complete and that the project remains under budget, but several tasks still need completion after a contractor walk-through.
"They tore up some inadvertently tore up some HVAC lines and so we didn't have heat in the building for [a] long period of time," the committee member said, describing a temporary loss of heat that has since been fixed. The presenter added that additional plumbing subwork and isolated shutoff valves now give the district better ability to manage localized outages.
Board members and staff said they expect plumbers and subs to return within days to finish outstanding items and that another progress report will be provided once work is complete.
