Road & Bridge reports project progress, grant rejections and limits on noxious weed chemicals

Road & Bridge Supervisor Josh Hinch told the Wabaunsee County Commission on June 8 that county applications for state KLBIP and other grants were not selected this year, and crews are finishing the 8-Mile Road project with rip-rap being placed.
Hinch said Mission Valley Road is scheduled for chip-seal and new painted striping and is expected to be completed before school starts. Commissioner Boyd Davis asked staff to inspect the intersection of Pleasant Plain Road and Wakarusa Road for a possibly missing stop sign. On noxious weed control, Hinch said crews have restocked Remedy and Tordon. "Remedy is limited to 3 gallons per producer," he said, and Cost Share Chemicals are intended for treatment of noxious weeds.
