Board hears plans for ADA-accessible trails connecting Coyote Ridge playground and bridge

HCM designers told the board that a primary objective of phase 1 is to provide accessible routes through the playground area and to the bridge over the drainage. "For your accessible access... this is where your bridge is down on where the drainage is," Robert Bartling said, adding the new serpentine walk would keep slopes under 5% so handrails would not be required and would link parking to the playground and ball field.
Board members repeatedly emphasized ADA-compliant walk connections as a high priority for the project; staff said those connections are funded in the base scope and will be included in the construction documents. The board asked that final drawings show the accessible routing, cross slopes and surface materials in the next packet so they can confirm compliance and maintenance expectations.
