UW Extension director outlines local role, says county prioritized Positive Youth Development

Jayna Hintz, Area Extension Director, told the committee that "UW Extension is how the University of Wisconsin–Madison shows up in your county." She explained Extension educators work in their communities, bring professional expertise, and connect local priorities to university research and resources. Hintz said counties shape Extension work through contracts, partnerships and feedback.
Hintz noted that Calumet County has focused its Extension scope on Positive Youth Development and that a written impact report highlighting local Positive Youth Development programs and other institute offerings was shared with the committee.
